Exploring Oahu and rocking to Rubber Soul

Deb is posing next to the aircraft warning light on top of Nauru Tower. The yacht harbor and Diamond Head are in the distance. Waikiki beach is just out of view; between the hotels and Diamond Head.

Nauru Tower's building manager saw my panoramic photo of Hawaiki Tower and invited me to take a panorama from the top of his building. Here are three different sizes of the panorama. Choose one depending on how fast your internet connection is: small - medium - large

If you like panoramic photos see my journal entry for Hawaii memories. I've got several of my other panoramic photos from Oahu there.

A zoomed view towards Diamond Head.

Magic Island and Ala Moana beach as seen from Nauru Tower.

We spent the rest of the day riding around the island.

We are very much in love.

Deb wears a mischievous look most of the time!

Statue of a Japanese sumo wrestler.

Chinaman's Hat island in the distance.

A young Hawaiian carving a totem pole.

I've come by twice a year for the last two years and he is always there; working on his boat. He doesn't mind my presence or my camera but isn't interested in talking much beyond answering simple questions. His gruff demeanor makes it clear that he tolerates visitors as long as they stay out of his way and their visit is brief.

The last time I came his boat appeared near completion but now the masts are missing. I wonder why?

Mountains across from Kualoa park.

She's the greatest thing in the world!

My first concert with Deb was to see the Beatles, well, actually Rubber Soul, a Beatles tribute band. What a wonderful way to end the day. We had a marvelous time and the band was terrific. The Beatles are Deb's favorite band and my second-favorite (after Spinal Tap, of course.)

If you like the Beatles and you're on Oahu don't miss Rubber Soul!
